We also work closely with small businesses, many of whom are run by youth, women, and entrepreneurs in underserved areas, to give them visibility and a fighting chance in today’s digital economy.

Role Overview: Volunteer Social Media Manager

Type: Volunteer
Format: Hybrid (Remote + occasional in-person collaboration)
Location: Thika, Nairobi, or Mombasa
Time Commitment: 6–8 hours per week
Compensation: Volunteer-based with commission for each vendor successfully onboarded

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and schedule content across Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), and TikTok
  • Grow and manage our online community with engaging posts and stories
  • Monitor performance, analyze trends, and help shape content strategy
  • Work with our marketing and vendor support teams to highlight local businesses
  • Identify, approach, and onboard vendors onto the Upsell platform
    • Earn a commission for every successful onboardings' 

Requirements

We’re looking for individuals who:

  • Are passionate about social media, content creation, and supporting small businesses
  • Are comfortable using tools like Canva, CapCut, or Instagram Reels
  • Have strong communication and visual storytelling skills
  • Are self-motivated, dependable, and eager to learn
  • Can commit at least 6–8 hours per week for 3 months
